Peter is a highly skilled pediatric physiotherapist with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in both private practice and National Health Services. He obtained his foundational Diploma in Physiotherapy from the Healthcare Professional College, complemented by a BSc. in Physiotherapy from the Slovak Medical University. His commitment to fostering his expertise led him to pursue an MSc. in Advancing Physiotherapy Practice from Sheffield-Hallam University, UK, and a Clinical Research Associate Diploma from the Clinical Research Academy in Canada.

With a commitment to ongoing professional development, Peter has accumulated a comprehensive array of certifications, including concepts such as NDT Bobath, Vojta Reflex Locomotion, ISST (International Schroth 3D Scoliosis therapy), Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Myofascial release (IASTM), Cranio-Mandibular Therapy, RedCord, Mulligan’s MWM, Myofascial Dry Needling, Prechtl’s Assessment of General Movements, and Pediatric Gait Analysis and Orthotic Management to mention a few.

Peter Zakopcan has honed an eclectic approach in his practice, drawing from evidence-based concepts in manual therapy, neuromuscular, and neurodevelopmental approaches. His career spans over two decades, during which he has adeptly treated diverse populations, focusing on pediatric musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological conditions as well as sports injuries in older children and teenagers.

His specialized expertise includes addressing conditions such as hypermobility, idiopathic scoliosis, postural kyphosis, tendinopathies, overuse injuries, painful shoulder and hip conditions, premature infants, head and foot deformities, torticollis, Erb’s palsy, developmental delays, hypotonia/hypertonia, hip dysplasia, gait pathologies, and balance issues.

Peter is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) UAE, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK, the Ministry of Health in the Czech Republic, and the Slovak Chamber of Physiotherapists, reflecting his interest in meeting the highest professional standards and providing exemplary care to his patients. He is fluent in English, Slovak and Czech.
