Dr Rahila has over 15 years of experience in Endocrinology and Diabetes in Dubai, the UK and Pakistan. She undertook her speciality training in leading teaching hospitals in London, such as Guy’s & St Thomas’s Hospital. As a fellow of Royal College of Physicians in the UK, Dr Rahila has previously worked as a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology in Worthing Hospital, UK..

Dr Rahila is SCOPE certified and has led a successful weight management program in a multidisciplinary setting to deal with the obesity epidemic in UAE. It was accredited as a ‘clinical centre of excellence by the European Association for study of obesity (EASO) in January 2022.

She has implemented many initiatives at previous hospitals, including local insulin pump services, antenatal diabetes services, inpatient diabetic management plans, blood glucose monitoring and guidelines on pre-operative diabetes care for bariatric surgery. She has presented (both oral and poster presentations) at national and international meetings in the UK, USA and UAE. She has also several publications in Pubmed indexed journals.

She is an adjunct clinical assistant professor for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). She also teaches postgraduate ‘Masters of Science in Diabetes Management’ at the University of Sharjah, UAE. She is actively involved in research and has presented at several national and international forums.
