Dr Hussein Abolmakarem is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRCOG).
In 2010 he established and ran for ten years the first fetal medicine unit in the Egyptian ministry of health.
He completed joint RCOG/RCR Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound and practical training in August 1999 in the fetal medicine unit at Homerton Hospital, London, UK. Prior to this he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 1998. He completed a Master Degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1990 at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, and M.B,B.Ch in 1983 also at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt.
With extensive clinical experience over 30 years, Dr Hussein’s expertise has been expanded to include different aspects of obstetrics, gynaecology and fetal medicine. These range from the antenatal care of both low and high-risk obstetric cases.
With experience in both normal and complicated deliveries; performed instrumental deliveries including forceps and ventouse, caesarean section, caesarean-hysterectomy.
